AUTHOR'S INTRO TO THE TRILOGY

I wrote The Lorian Stones Trilogy as a Christian alternative for upper middle grade & teens (including my own children) seeking adventure fantasy without a focus on magic.

Swords and bows replace spells and wizardry; perseverance, trust, and hope in the darkest hour prevail as themes throughout. The books are very action based, while conveying Christian concepts. Intensity level is PG, with suggested age from 10 on up.

If you or your kids enjoyed Narnia and now want something more intense, you'll love this trilogy! —Lew A.

WHAT PASTORS SAY

PASTOR VIETTI

"I absolutely loved it!

...had the opportunity to read it with my 12 year old son, and he loved it as well. It was very easy to read, very fun to read, and exciting to turn each page. My son was absolutely captivated by the story, and after we finished together, decided to read it by himself. The book itself is crafted well, and it draws you into the characters. I have rated many books on amazon, and this is one of my favorites not only because the book itself was very good, but it created a time for me to spend with my youngest son, and help introduce him to the wonderful world of fantasy books!" “I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I kept finding myself reading every minute I had. It was well planned out and a brilliant story line. It was well set up for the next book and I can't wait till that one comes out.”

PASTOR ALES

"Reading Tombs of Dross was a joy! From start to finish, I found the book really hard to put down. The characters are developed well, and they're easier to relate to than most fantasy/adventure books. One of the best things is the book is completely family friendly. I would say this book is almost a mix between the Chronicles of Narnia and the Lord of the Rings series, yet completely unique. Don't miss out!"

ABOUT LEW ANDERSON

I tend to write family-friendly, yet intense and engaging adventure fantasy for upper Middle Grade & Young Adult readers, hoping to offer quality Christian-based stories that help both young and old hear the heart of God.

My favorites are when the heroes are true heroes—refined in the fires of adversity, pushed beyond limits, the world’s fate teetering on their battered shoulders… and of course, a budding romance to muddle things up.

I grew up enjoying whatever adventures I found or imagined in the backwoods of my family’s farm. With trusty knife and bow, I’d walk beneath the trees, losing countless arrows aimed at elusive prey.

Now married with four adult children, our family spent six years in Northern Asia helping impoverished schools while teaching English. Often, I’d be the first ‘white man’ these mountainous areas had ever seen.

After receiving my M.A. in the Philippines, I returned to pastor a church in my home state of Minnesota, where I still enjoy roaming the woods.

I have always loved writing, as I believe we were meant to be creative—to then share our talent for others to enjoy. Many underestimate their natural gifts, fearing failure or criticism. I encourage you to explore those riches—to dream big, to work hard, and never give up.
